Late Fall Soup Cleanse 2024

Autumn is flying by, full of gorgeous days and warm weather!  I had two travel trips and lots of garden work, and now the weather is about to finally turn colder.  Cold weather means SOUP!!  And the holidays so often mean eating richly and sometimes overconsuming.  So I am thinking that a Soup Cleanse would be perfect about now.  Soups are filled with vegetables and all kinds of micronutrients, are easy to digest, warm, and filling.  Soups are always better when you make your own broths.  But this takes time and is often a step so many folks skip.  The broth brings in a lot of the nutrients and flavors, as well as the medicinal effects of added herbs.  So what better time to learn about how to make better broths and better soups than right now (!), cleansing after Thanksgiving feasting and getting ready to make good choices as we go into winter.  Winter is unfortunately so often a time when people get sick, but we will be learning about how to build our immunity so we can be the ones who stay well this winter and bring those who get sick some wonderful soup to help them get well!  Doing this before Christmas is also great because when/if we go to holiday gatherings, we will be full of delicious and healthy ideas of what to bring to share with our friends and family.

As stated in last fall’s blog, it is a great habit to do a cleanse or detox each spring and fall, renewing good habits, experimenting with new choices, and going inward in order to love ourselves more and become more flexible with what makes us feel good.
